A fundraiser to grant Jakob MacLure's wish for a Seizure Alert Service Dog will be held Saturday, September 8th at The Island in North Smithfield, RI from 12pm - 6pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children and will include a day of fun with food, music, raffles and face painting, a bouncy house and more for the kids!
Jakob, a 5-year-old boy from Woonsocket, was born with many medical illnesses, including epilepsy and cerebral palsy. A Seizure Alert Dog will warn the family before a seizure occurs. The specially trained alert dog can cost around $15,000.
Jakob's family is holding the fundraiser that will benefit Children's Wishes, a Rhode Island non-profit organization that grants wishes to children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 years of age with life-threatening illnesses, and go directly toward Jakob's Seizure Alert Dog Wish.
