NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (AP) - State officials and the town of Narragansett are teaming up to hold a charity fishing contest and seafood festival.

The First Annual Galilee Fishing for a Cause Tournament and Seafood Festival is taking place on Saturday and Sunday. The events are designed to highlight Rhode Island's commercial and recreational fishing industries, locally-harvested seafood and the port.

Organizers are holding guided tours of a fish processing plant and fishing vessel on Sunday and featuring a "sea creature touch tank.''

The town has partnered with the state Department of Environmental Management and the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association to stage the events.

Proceeds will benefit Hasbro Children's Hospital, the Narragansett Parks and Recreation financial aid program and the Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale.
