PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Police have arrested an alleged gang member out of Providence on a firearms charge, according to United States Attorney Peter F. Nerohna.
Officials say police arrested Nimara S. Seng, 32, of Providence Thursday morning and charged him with possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
Seng was ordered detained following his initial appearance in U.S.
District Court in Providence, R.I
According to the affidavit, ATF agents with assistance from the Providence police department seized a loaded 9mm handgun from Seng's residence, after executing a search warrant at his Providence address.
In a post-arrest statement, Seng allegedly admitted to being a member of the Providence Street Boys, a Providence street gang.
