PASCOAG, R.I. - The second round of E. coli testing for Pascoag's water supply turned up negative, meaning Pascoag water is safe for human consumption.
Pascoag Utility general manager Michael Kirkwood told ABC6 News that their department had taken nine samples, all of which were completely negative for E. coli and fecal coliform bacteria.
Kirkwood said there is no boil water advisory or any other precautions being recommended as of Saturday evening. Water is safe for residents to shower with, cook with, and drink.
The testing took place after two out of eight samples taken Friday night were possibly tainted with E. coli. Those samples were collected in the Rock Avenue area, where the utility has a water storage tank.
