The man suspected of killing a Providence Car Wash owner back in June, has been caught in Florida. U.S Marshals tracked down 31-year-old Jovani Torres in Sanford, Florida.
Police say surveillance video shows Torres Fighting with 32-year-old Ivan Taveras and Torres pulling out a gun and shooting Taveras outside Garcia Auto Accessories.
We spoke with Taveras' sister over the phone. She says she is pleased with the arrest, but it doesn't bring her brother back. Police had a warrant out for Torres' arrest the day after Taveras' murder, but he's been on the run ever since.
If Torres waives extradition, he'll be brought back here to Rhode Island and charged with Taveras' murder.
