A family in a quiet Coventry neighborhood was woken up in the middle of the night and tied up by a group of masked men. Now police are looking into whether or not the intruders targeted the wrong people.
No one was hurt and nothing was taken. The four armed men still tied up the family at 39 Hillfarm Camp Road, but they left shortly after they arrived, leaving police to question whether or not they made a mistake.
The family is still too shaken up to talk about the frightening ordeal, but it is still the talk of the tight knit neighborhood.
"You go to bed at night and you feel safe, but not anymore I guess," Dianne Tessier said. "I mean what if they had done something terrible to them."
Neighbors say the home has changed owners a lot, leaving them to wonder if the intruders meant to target a previous owner.
"That house has burned down. Last year a bunch of kids were living there," Rachel Tessier said. "So maybe they were looking for somebody else."
The men were also wearing gloves and black clothing making them that much harder to identify. The invasion is still under investigation.
