Around that time, police say, a man walked into the Rockland Trust Bank at 100 Slades Ferry Avenue and showed the teller a note demanding money. The man also said he had a gun.
After the teller obeyed the robber's demands, the man fled with an unknown amount of cash.
According to police, the man was last seen running west along Slades Ferry Avenue before disappearing behind some buildings at the top of the street.
Police say despite flooding the area with officers, they were unable to find the suspect in time.
