Rhonda's Blog Week 4

By: Rhonda Correll  of Swansea, Ma

It can't get better than this!!  Amazing night on Dancing With the All-Stars.  Between Paula Abdul as a guest judge and all the new dances that were introduced, it was just incredible.  It really doesn't seem like it can get better.

I am torn as to what to write in this blog, where do I start?  I guess I will go in order of dancers.  Kirstie and Maks had an interesting Charleston.  She amazed me with her flexibility at her age to do a cartwheel.  The performance, as always, showed her fun side and what a great performer she is, but there was more of an entertainment aspect to it than dancing.  Bristol and Mark's Rock N Roll dance was also a lot of fun to watch.  She was very focused on all her moves but the dance felt a little too safe.  I did notice that Mark over dances her, which makes her look bad.  In my opinion he needs to tone down his movements and increase hers so she can stand out more and show how far she has come out of her shell.

Sabrina and Louie were fantastic!!!  Their Disco was head on.  Brought back many memories.  I think this was her best dance yet.  She had great movement and lines and was not as strong as she usually appears.  Emmett and Cheryl had a wonderful Bolero.  It was very elegant, sensual and captivating to watch.  Great job to Cheryl for her choreography on a dance she had never performed.

Gilles and Peta's Bollywood was AMAZING.  Although I am not familiar with this style of dance, it looked to me like they nailed it.  They also earned the first 10 of the season.  Again, props to Peta for a new dance which had her so worried.  Melissa and Tony had what I would call a gymnastic routine more than a Jitterbug.  There were lots of lifts and interesting moves but not enough jitterbug in the process.  I give Melissa credit for the scary lifts.  I held my breath a few times, never mind how she must have felt.

Apolo and Karina's Hip Hop broke my heart.  Karina was so worried about this dance during practice and up until she slipped on Apolo's microphone I thought she did a great job. She was truly crushed and I think all her fans felt the same.  I commend the judges for their comments and trying to encourage her and for recognizing that Apolo is just a natural at Hip Hop.  Hope the slip up doesn't send them packing.

Shawn and Derek's Mambo was also incredible.  They are a team to be reckoned with.  In perfect sync with amazing lifts.  Nice to see them also getting 10's for the night.  Kelly and Val's Contemporary was a story beautifully told.  Her lines were perfect as were her emotions throughout the dance.  It must have been very difficult for her to perform with a broken toe, but she did a great job.

I am on pins and needles for tomorrow's Results show.  I don't want anyone to go home! Can't they just give out 9 Mirror Ball Trophies?  I guess it makes it easy for voting though, I voted for everyone (they are all my favorites).

Make sure to vote for your favorite team, or all of them like I did. Check the links on this page for voting information .  Also, be sure to check out the social scene and chat with other DWTS fans, meet the cast, join the after party and much more.  Lots to do  You can vote, chat, see pics, play games and more.
