CRANSTON, R.I. - The Parole Board denied Frank Moniz' bid for freedom from prison for the 1990 murder of Maryellen Medeiros.
In their decision, the Board said releasing Moniz would "undermine respect for the law, with intent to trivialize the tragic loss of life which he caused; the crime was cold and heinous and the board received a volume of letters opposing parole and a strong opposition letter from the Attorney General."
This was Moniz' second attempt at parole; his last attempt was in 2005.
Frank Moniz will not be up for parole again until October 2019.
