Rhonda's Blog Part 2 Guilty Pleasures--Week 5

Tonight was a great continuation of last nights show.  The individual guilty pleasure dances of Team Call Me Maybe along with the team dance for Gangnam Style were all quite entertaining.

Melissa and Tony's Tango was a great show opener.  Never thought of tangoing to Brittany Spears but it worked well with Toxic.  Melissa had perfect lines and footwork and there was great storytelling in the dance as well.  Glad the judges didn't penalize her to much for not being quite as sharp as normally required for head turning with a Tango.  She did a great job while still recovering from her neck injury.

Shawn and Derek's Rumba was WOW!  The choreography was great and they were totally in sync with each other.  Loved the end where Derek slid off the stage into the fog; totally completed the Titanic theme.  It was great to see her show such emotion but the Rumba is usually a bit more sensual than what they portrayed, however, the more romantic Rumba matched the song perfectly.

Apolo and Karina's Samba left me wanting more.  Is there anything he can't do?  That was some serious hip shaking and great footwork.  I totally disagree with Carrie Ann giving them an 8, but loved that Bruno gave a 10.  He definitely deserved it.  I think they work great together as a team.

Sabrina and Louis' Waltz was just beautiful.  It felt like you were watching a real life Cinderella movie.  It was nice to see her dance so elegantly and soft.  She is a great dancer and this just showed another side of her that I would like to see more often.

Team Gangnam Style led by team captains Gilles and Peta was not quite what I was anticipating.  It was lots of fun and definitely high energy but I wanted more difficult moves from both the group dance as well as the individual ones.  I think the choreography could have been much harder for such a talented team.  It really was fun to watch and even better at the end when Gilles gave his towel to Bruno.  You never know what might happen on this show!

I still don't want anyone to get voted off next week.  Each one of them are my favorites but unfortunately there can only be one.  Don't forget to vote using as many options as you can.  I am not helpful to any of the stars because I vote for all of them, but I guess there are one or two who might get an extra vote.  Not going to say who my fauves are but if you've been following my blogs it's easy to figure out.  For voting questions follow the links on this page.   Check out the other tabs on the page for recaps, photos and more.  Also, make sure to follow @DWTS on Twitter to catch up on all the latest tweets from the stars/pros and fans.  Pretty exciting to see them as 'normal people' just tweeting away.  Don't forget facebook for lots of fan comments and show updates as well.

Until Monday, wishing the entire dance teams a great week while preparing for yet another round.  Can't wait to see what's in store for what I am sure will be another week that makes me wonder how it keeps getting better!
