Charges Dropped in North Smithfield Mosque Vandalism

The man accused of vandalizing a North Smithfield mosque has been cleared of all charges.

The charges against 20-year-old Robert Scalso were dropped after the judge refused to allow a statement from a friend, who says he with Scalso, when he destroyed a sign.

Surveillance video from the mosque the on August 5^th shows someone damaging the sign. Police say it wasn't clear enough for them to identify the man.
