The brunt of Hurricane Sandy is expected to make landfall overnight Monday into Early Tuesday. Right now the track has the storm hitting the Delaware coast as a Category 1 Hurricane.
Here in Southern New England high sustained wind speeds and gusts potentially over 50mph are possible. Also heavy rain, beach erosion and possible coastal flooding could also occur here.
Some early preparations you can do now include, trimming trees and shrubs near power lines, cleaning gutters, clearing storm drains, and moving lawn furniture inside as well as objects that could potentially fly around your yard.
National Grid is gearing up for the storm. They've called in crews from across the region to assist in outages and clean-up for next week.
