Rhode Island Already Hit With Power Outages - ABC6 - Providence, RI and New Bedford, MA News, Weather

Despite the early hour, Rhode Island is already seeing significant power outages.

According to the latest reports from the National Grid, Newport currently has over 2,000 people without power for a total of 2,800 Rhode Island residents without electricity and 87 power outages throughout the state.

Conditions are expected to get worse throughout the day and residents are encouraged to take the necessary precautions.
