Fox Point Hurricane Barrier Closed - ABC6 - Providence, RI and New Bedford, MA News, Weather

The Fox Point Hurricane Barrier in Providence was closed this morning by 6:45AM. At high tide early today at about 8AM minor flooding occurred at Fox Point. By this evening the potential for seeing moderate flooding is possible with the astronomically high tide at 8:23PM.

This is one of the biggest threats for coastal flooding that Southern New England has seen in years. A storm surge of 3-6 feet is possible through this evening.
