Sandys power on full display in Narragansett

Posted: Updated:

"This is unbelievable..."

As Sandy crashed her way into the coast of Narragansett, some had to see it to believe it.

"We were on the seawall and it was blowing us back, says Grace Ragozzino, We could barely get through the tower."

A spectacle along the seawall even Sponge Bob got in on, pets too, and this is sugar she wants to get in the water

But police say Sandys waters are no laughing matter as storm surges slammed along the town beach – Ocean Road started to look more like an ocean.

"The force of Mother Nature at work here."

Many saying it was already worse than hurricane bob long before the sun set and the tide came in.

It's the biggest one I've seen. By far. By far. It doesn't just pass right through. It just keeps going and going and going, said Bob Comes.

The wind keeps going too – snapping trees – downing power lines.

Leaving behind a full moon and a big mess come morning.

"I just cannot believe that water can do this kind of thing. The power of water. I mean the wall has become part of the ocean," says Susan Donat.
