Flames broke at a residence on President Avenue just before 6:30 this morning.
During the blaze four firefighters were sent to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Three fire fighters were hurt falling through a hole in the second floor, and one suffered heat exhaustion.
All four are being treated at Rhode Island Hospital.
The owner nor anyone else were in the house at the time, and it was up for sale as a historical landmark.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
