A pair of bank robbers is on the loose tonight after a heist at the Swansea branch of the Fall River Bank 5 that sent a customer to the hospital.

Police tell ABC6 there were two people in bank when the robbers entered around 11:45 this morning. Two masked men ordered the patrons and tellers to the ground. Then one of them jumped on the counter and demanded money.

Surveillance photos show the two men wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts. One of them had on red sweat pants.

Investigators say the robbers did not show or mention a weapon. They told bank goers no one would get hurt.

As the men got away, the man on the counter jumped down, landing on one of the patrons. She was shaken up and taken to the hospital to be checked out.

Police say this was not a typical robbery.

"A lot of the robberies have been teller notes, passing notes and so forth. So for him to jump over the counter and be screaming at everybody is different," said Lt. Gregory Ryan of the Swansea Police Department.

Police say the robber's actions indicate desperation and experience.

The suspects took off on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. They may have left the area in a dark colored 4 door car. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
