It was the mad dash for the big win Wednesday night, as thousands lined up at the last minute hoping to hit the Powerball jackpot.
It was the fourth quarter of the so called Powerball game at Vista Donuts in Attleboro. The multi-million dollar dream starts at just $2, but it can get pricey for those who get serious.
"People come in with bet slips and spend $600 on tickets," employee Alyssa Pawlowski said.
Some say there is a strategy to it all. For Icie McCarthy, it involves Chinese food.
"I get a lot of fortune cookies and play the numbers on the back of the fortune slips," she said after investing hundreds of dollars into this jackpot.
Even those who do not win the $550 million say they will still play and still dream of new cars, new houses and a whole lot of money.
The lucky numbers for the November 28th drawing were 5, 16, 22, 23 and 29. The Powerball number was 6.
