A sick dog taken from a troubled home will have a costly, life saving surgery, thanks to an anonymous donor, who just wanted to help.
Ira, a cute and cuddly six-year old female silky terrier, is the dog getting the surgery. She suffers from constant pain, because of kidney stones, in her bladder.
Norfolk animal control officer Hilary Cohen took charge of Ira this week after her owner was arrested.
Officer Cohen didn't think that Ira would ever be healthy again because the cost of surgery was at least 14-hundred dollars.
Then an anonymous donor, who heard about Ira's condition from news reports, came in to help.
Donating $1,400-dollars in cash to pay for Ira's surgery.
Ira will have surgery to fix her bladder problem on Friday.
Officer Cohen is hoping that the anonymous donor gets back in touch with her, so that she can thank the woman, face to face.
Ira will be put up for adoption after she heals up from surgery, Officer Cohen says that she's already heard from a few people, interested in adopting Ira.
