PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Four men suffered varying injuries early Saturday morning after they were shot in four separate incidents.

  • Police say the first shooting happened shortly after midnight, when police found Maxwell Duncan, 22, of Providence laying on the sidewalk outside of the Latin Lounge at 340 Elmwood Avenue. He had been shot in the left leg and lower back area. According to police, Duncan is recovering at Rhode Island Hospital and is in stable condition with non life-threatening wounds.
  • While police were at the hospital investigating that shooting, a second gunshot wound victim was brought to the hospital by a private vehicle. The victim, Juan LaJara, 21, of Providence, had been shot in the left leg. Police say they had seen him near the Latin Lounge before the first shooting was reported to police. LaJara is being treated at Rhode Island Hospital and is in stable condition with a non life-threatening wound.

Police say the Duncan and LaJara have so far been uncooperative as far as describing a suspect or giving information about what led up to the shooting.

  • Around 2:28 Saturday morning, officers responded to 270 Chad Brown Street for the report of third shooting. When police arrived, they caught a glimpse of a suspect fleeing the scene right before they found they found the victim, Jorge Semidley, 33, of Providence. He had been shot in the calf and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Police caught up with the suspect, Jose Alfredo Lopez-Gutierrez, 36, of Providence, and took him into custody.
  • At 3:57 a.m., police had returned to the hospital to investigate a previous incident when they were told by hospital staff that a fourth shooting victim had arrived. Police determined that David Lassegue, 31, of Providence, had been shot in the left bicep area. After providing a description of his assailant, Lassegue was treated and released, according to police.

Police are continuing to look for suspects in these shootings. ABC6 News will post new details as they are uncovered.
