Though it isn't baseball season, it did not stop fans from attending Christmas at McCoy Stadium on Saturday.
The club opened up the park and allowed fans to come in and take pictures with players, as well as receive autographs and tour the grounds.
Around 1,000 fans shuffled through.
Now Boston Red Sox catcher Ryan Lavarnway was on hand and talked about the Sox off season moves of bringing in two other catchers to compete at his position.
"I have not looked at the moves that we made in any sort of selfish way," Lavarnway said. "I looked at the players that we picked up, and David Ross is a guy that comes with a great reputation of being a guy with great charachter and is a great player. And Napoli is obviously a great hitter and I am glad he is on our side because we do not have to face him."
