Forbes Magazine ranks Rhode Island as the second worst state in the country to do business. That's down one spot from 2011. Forbes says draw backs include a high unemployment rate and a lousy regulatory climate. The Governor and local businesses are weighing in on the ranking.
"I just don't agree. This is a great place to do business, great place to raise a family , great place to live," Governor Lincoln Chafee tells ABC6. "We'll stack up against any state."
"For me it's like, well I know things are bad, but I'm okay. So, it's like the bullets are flying around but I haven't been hit yet," said Don Beohner, owner of Copacetic Jewelers in Providence.
The only state worse off fro business than Rhode Island is Maine which came in at 50.
