In the wake of Sandy Hook, the gun control debate is intensifying, but one local sports retailer is taking a strong stance.
Dick's Sporting Goods is staking all semi-automatic rifles off the shelves. Adam Lanza used a Bushmaster 223 in his rampage.
In a statement, the chain's executives said, "Out of respect for the victims and their families, during this time of national mourning we have removed all guns from sale and from display in our store nearest to Newtown and suspended the sale of modern sporting rifles in all of our stores chain wide."
There is no word on how long the ban will last.
