ABC 6 has been tracking the storm all day. A mix of snow, rain and high winds head across the Northeast.
Crews have been out most of the night trying to make the roads safer for drivers.
As of tonight police have already been responding to a lot of accidents out on the roads. Local cities and towns have been bracing for this winter storm.
The Department of public works in Burrillville has crews hard at work tonight trying to avoid the snow from sticking to the ground.
Jeff McCormick the DPW director says workers have been mixing sand and salt, checking equipment, plows and making sure lights are working and trucks are starting.
In Burrillville they have 100-miles of soon to be slick roads to cover and with many travelers still on their way home from their holiday destinations, the DPW isn't taking any chances.
