While Rhode Islanders wait for a winner to step forward and claim their prize from the million dollar raffle it seems another Rhode Islander has gotten lucky.

The Rhode Island lottery has announced that a $2 million winning ticket for Wednesday nights PowerBall jackpot of $50 million was sold at Commons Convenience Store in South Kingstown. The ticket was claimed on Thursday although the identity of the winner has not been released.

The ticket matched five numbers but not the PowerBall however, the player chose the Power Play feature increase what would be a $1 million to $2million. This is the second time a Rhode Islander has matched five out of five numbers on their Powerball ticket since the game was changed a year ago.

In 2012, two Rhode Islanders were PowerBall jackpot winners.
