A 23-year-old Johnston woman has been arrested and charged with stealing $197,518.93 from her employer, Metro Motor Group.
Dana Collins worked in the corporate office as an assistant to the president of Metro Motor Group where she managed his personal and business bank accounts.
According to a recent investigation by the State Police Financial Crimes Unit, beginning in 2009 Collins allegedly made unauthorized payments to her personal bills from her employer's bank account. In addition it is alleged that she made payments to herself in form of checks and cash unauthorized by her employer.
She is charged with larceny over $1,500, uttering and publishing, and access to a computer for a fraudulent purpose. She was released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
