One man's police report ended in his own arrest.
On Wednesday afternoon Craig Gebo, 18, walked into the South End New Bedford Police Station to file a complaint over a Facebook threat he received. What he didn't realize is that carrying a loaded gun into a police department was a no-no.
The South Coast Today reports that Gebo complained that a woman had threatened to have several men shoot him because he owed her money on Facebook. Gebo could not end his story there instead he insisted that he would shoot the men first which alarmed police.
They questioned whether he had a firearm and Gebo confessed, yes and he was carrying. It was also revealed it was an unlicensed firearm.
The officers retrieved to weapon, a .25 caliber Beretta semiautomatic handgun with no serial numbers.
