Student removed from New Bedford elementary school for threat

A student was removed from a New Bedford Elementary school after telling a teacher she had a weapon.

The incident happened just after 10 a.m. on John A Parker Elementary School. The student, who was either in the fourth or fifth grade, was removed from the school and police were notified.

According New Bedford Police, the school did not lock down and classes are continuing as usual.
