He wanted to be a millionaire but unfortunately he is not going to be.

Matthew Dolan, a 24-year-old Virginia Tech grad student from North Kingstown Rhode Island appeared on ABC's "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" on Wednesday morning but unfortunately Dolan answered a question incorrect in the first round and only walked away with $1,000.

Dolan appeared with his mother, Elizabeth Dolan, as his on air companion. He made it to the tenth question, the last question in the first round of the game, where he was asked:

Which of the following suffragettes was the only one alive when the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote in 1920?

A: Harriet Tubman
B: Elizabeth Cady Stanton
C: Susan B. Anthony
D: Jane Addams

Unfortunately for Dolan, he guessed ‘C' but the answer was ‘D'. Dolan could have walked away with $28,500 but because he answered in correctly he only won $1,000.

During the show host Meredith Vieira, a native Rhode Islander, gave props to the Ocean State when she said to Dolan, "I feel like we are related because we are both from Rhode Island."
