SWANSEA, Mass. - The Mr. Peepers ice cream shop in Swansea was robbed Saturday evening, and so far police have made no arrests.
According to police, a man entered the ice cream store around 5:55 p.m. Saturday and informed the clerk that he was being robbed. After the cashier handed over an undermined amount of money, the suspect took off on foot. He was last seen running north on Gardners Neck Road.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the robbery.
Police are describing the suspect as either a darker-skinned white or lighter-skinned Hispanic man between the ages of 20 and 30, about 5'8'' tall, and wearing a darker colored baseball-type hat, a black North Face jacket and possibly sweatpants. The suspect was clean shaven.
Police are asking anyone who may have details about the robbery or saw a man fleeing the area around the time of the robbery to call the Swansea Police Department at 508-674-8464.
