Gun control advocates rallied at the Rhode Island statehouse on Saturday, wanting stricter controls on firearms, better background checks, and a reduction in gun-related deaths.
"Newtown caused me and so many around me, so much distress that we, a lot of us suddenly felt we had to do something." said gun control advocate Dawn Emsellem.
Emsellem is one of the heads of the Rhode Island chapter of One Million Moms 4 Gun Control and her group was just one of several at the rally, wanting to see action on gun control.
Congressman David Cicilline was also in attendance at the rally..
Cicilline has already filed a bill meant to address calls for gun control and he know from experience that getting any measures passed in Washington that deal with guns, won't be easy.
