The roof was torn off of a Fall River Elementary School due to the strong winds on Thursday morning.
A few faculty members were inside the Resiliency Preparatory School ( the old Westall Elementary School) on Maple Street at the time the incident took place. When the roof tore off the faculty members where immediately evacuated. Students were on the way to school at the time and they were not allowed in because of the damage,
The school is closed Thursday and Friday and officials are looking for a location to relocate classes.
The school is the oldest school in Fall River dating back to the 1800's. Officials say they would like to repair the building but it may not be possible because of the cost of the repairs.
