WARWICK, R.I. - A woman is being held without bail at the ACI in Cranston after allegedly leading police on a pursuit across four towns and cities.
Police say around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, they pulled over a sedan in the area of 820 Post Road, suspecting that a drunk driver was behind the wheel. When the officers began their approach, the woman took off.
The low-speed pursuit spanned four towns and cities. The woman led police through Warwick into Cranston, Providence, and North Providence.
At some point, police say they were able to stop the car and arrested 21 year-old Stephanie Banville and charged her with reckless driving, driving with an expired or suspended license, and DUI.
Police say although the crimes Banville is charged with are misdemeanors, she is being held without bail as a probation violator.
