Providence Fire officials say a five-year-old boy has second and third degree burns over eighty-five percent of body after a late-night fire caused when the boy was playing with matches. An adult male has burns over thirty percent of his body.
The fire started on the second floor of a two-story duplex on Virginia Avenue.The fire broke out around 930 p.m. Sunday night.
Fire Chief Michael Dillon tells ABC6, the child was playing with matches and it caught the bedding, and his clothing on fire.
.The names of the injured parties have not been released and it's still unclear whether the adult male is the boy's father. Both are listed in critical condition.
2 other individuals were also taken to the hospital as a result of the fire.
