The governor surveyed the impact of the blizzard via
helicopter on Sunday, the Rhode Island National Guard gave the Governor a tour
in a Blackhawk helicopter.
Chafee said he was impressed with the state of the roads,
commending the DOT for a timely response.
Meanwhile on Sunday morning Chafee admitted he was initially frustrated
with how long it was taking National Grid to restore power to Rhode Islanders
without heat or electricity.
But he noted on on Sunday that he
believed the company was getting a handle on outages and restoring heat
and power effectively.
National Grid is struggling to deal with numerous downed wires,
trees on wires, and impassible roads.
