RIPTA back in service with some delays

Posted: Updated:

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced that bus service will be reinstated beginning with the first trip of the day on Monday, February 11, 2013.

However, heavily accumulated snow in some areas and unplowed snow on secondary roads, make it difficult for RIPTA vehicles to travel safely. As a result, nineteen RIPTA bus routes will be on detour beginning with the first trip on Monday, February 11, 2013; those routes are listed below.

RIPTA will continue to restore service on those routes as conditions allow. Passengers are encouraged to check www.RIPTA.com for updates throughout the day. Riders should expect some delays on all routes due to post-storm conditions and are advised to use extreme caution at bus stops.
