Six people have been forced out into the cold, after a fire this morning in Providence. It happened on Camp street at a two-family home.  The flames broke out around 3:30 A.M. The residents were home at the time, but managed to get out safely.

Fire Chief Jeffrey Varone of Providence Fire Department says one of the tenants tried putting the fire out.

"The fire started on the second floor in the bathroom. The first floor tenant tried to extinguish the fire, but it flared back up. The fire extended to the third floor but everyone was able to self–evacuate."

No one was hurt and the cause is under investigation.
