CRANSTON, R.I. - The Cranston City Council will hold a public hearing for a controversial real estate development, set to be built near one of Cranston's residential neighborhoods.

The subject of the hearing will be the construction of three four-story buildings on an undeveloped parcel of land situated at Phenix Avenue and Natick Avenue, near the Cranston Ice Rink.

If constructed, the buildings would house 192 apartments and one building would have four commercial outlets.

Residents will have the chance to voice their support or concerns for the construction of the development.

The hearing will take place at Cranston East High School on Park Avenue, on Wednesday, February 20, 1013, at 7:00 p.m.

The developer will be at the public hearing. The Procaccianti Group, which also owns the Westin Hotel Condominiums in providence, are overseeing the prospective project.
