The care center where Ashton Perry, 9 months, and Alton Perry, 2, were abducted from in North Stonington, Connecticut made the difficult decision to open Wednesday. Social workers were at Kids and Company on the Providence-New London Tpke helping to console the grieving. The brothers young lives cut short when their grandmother, Debra Denison, 47, of Sherwood Dr., killed them, and then turned the gun on her self.

"I don't know. I don't understand it. I've tried to make sense of it in my head," said Christine Hare, owner of Kids and Company. "You don't ever know how you are going to react to something like this."

Denison was supposed to pick up her grandchildren, and take them home to celebrate Alton's 2nd birthday, but they never made it. An Amber Alert was issued last night.

"She does have some mental issues, so we're not sure what her state is. Prayers, and just keep it in your thoughts that these guys make it home safe tonight," Brenda Perry, the boys mother, told reporters shortly before their bodies were found.

Around 9:30 Tuesday night Connecticut State Troopers received a 911 phone call about a vehicle matching the amber alert parked near Lake of Isle in Preston. When they arrived the boys and Denison were dead. A revolver and suicide note were left in the minivan.

"We've gone over it in our heads a million times. Did she say something that led us to believe something? There was nothing," said Hare.

Tonight workers at the daycare are remembering the tow little bright eyed boys whose energetic personalities brought a smile to their faces.

"We didn't get to know them as much as we'd like," said director Nikki Saluan. "Long enough to touch your heart, but not long enough to leave the footprints here that they should have."

Autopsies have been scheduled to determine cause of death.
