PROVIDENCE, R.I. - A man was taken to the hospital with two gunshot wounds after Providence police found him Saturday morning at the 7/11 convenience store on Charles Street.
Police say around 1 a.m. Saturday, a caller told them a person had been shot at 7 Touro Street, but had left the scene. Police say the man was resting at the 7/11 convenience store at 549 Charles Street, with two gunshot wounds to his right elbow and hip area.
The victim, whose identity police have not released, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries. When police found the man, he was conscious but had difficulty answering questions.
Police returned to the scene and say they found witnesses to the crime, but say they have made no arrests as of Saturday afternoon.
