If cooking a three course gourmet meal under a time limit wasn't stressful enough, the students competing at this year's ProStart Culinary Competition were then judged by almost 20 industry recognized chefs from restaurants like Siena and Hemenway's.
Five culinary teams have been prepping for this event since the beginning of the school year.
The culinary winners at this year's event were the Davies First Four from Davies Jr Career and Tech High School.
Not only was it a culinary competition but also a management competition with teams presenting a restaurant concept including everything from menu ideas to the décor. The winner of that competition was Ginger & Spice from Exeter Job Corps Academy.
It's not just the pride of being able to represent Rhode Island at the national level, nearly $100,000 in scholarship money is awarded to the winning teams.
