A panel of three judges on the workers compensation court upheld a $1 million fine assessed against the owners of the Station Nightclub where 100 people were killed in a fire in 2003.

Michael and Jeffrey Derderian were fined because they did not carry worker's compensation insurance at their night club.

Four employees of the club were killed when the West Warwick club burned down. The fire started when the rock band Great White used pyrotechnics inside the building which ignited flammable foam soundproofing.

The brothers declared bankruptcy after the tragic fire but the Bankruptcy court judge held that the fine is equal to a penalty and therefore was not eligible to be discharged.
