Sabres sign Providence F Schaller to 2-year deal
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) _ The Buffalo Sabres have signed Providence College forward Tim Schaller to a two-year entry level contract.
Schaller was an undrafted free agent, who was eligible to be signed after completing his senior season with the Friars. From Merrimack, N.H., Schaller had eight goals and 15 assists in 38 games and was honored as Hockey East's defensive forward of the year last season.
Overall, he had 68 points (29 goals, 39 assists) in 131 career games.
The 22-year-old plans to finish school this spring and then join the Sabres for their rookie camp this summer.
The signing was announced by the Sabres on Tuesday.
