Thousands of fans united in voice and spirit before the Bruins game last night. It was the first major event in the city since the attack.

During the national anthem the singer, Rene Rancourt, stopped and the crowd took over. A beautiful moment which was followed by a USA chant. Fans were seen wiping away tears.

The arena was lit up in blue and yellow which are the colors of the Boston Marathon. Fans carried signs reading "Boston Strong."

Before people went in to see the Bruins many of them stopped and reflected in front of the Bobby Orr Statue. That's where someone placed a jersey in memory of 8-year-old Martin Richard. It was a moving tribute to the youngest bombing victim.
