Just before 7 PM Friday shots rang out in Watertown for the second time in less than 24 hours. After being awakened last night by a dramatic shootout that left one of the two marathon bomb suspects dead residents were again shaken.
Friday residents in Watertown and neighboring cities and towns were ordered to stay in their homes. At a press conference that evening the Governor lifted the stay in place order and residents were again allowed out doors. The gunfire on Franklin street erupted less than an hour later.
Media and bystanders were kept away from the house where the second suspect was holding up in a boat in someone's back yard. On walnut street, about a block away, residents watched as a heavy police presence took over their street. Helicopters flew overhead. A bomb robot was called in.
After more than an hour came word that the suspect had been taken alive. Law enforcement officers could be seen smiling and exchanging high fives. Residents cheered saying they could finally relax.
