An overnight dispute in Providence ends with one man killed and a woman injured. Police responded to Dora Street Wednesday night around 11:30 for reports of a domestic dispute. Multiple officers were on scene and shots were reportedly fired.
Police say they were called to the scene for reports of screaming. When they arrived 30-year-old Jacqueline Aquil emerged from the house covered in blood with a gun shot wound to her shoulder and arm.
When they entered the home they discovered 27-year-old Amos Labrador inside with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gun shot wound. Police say the two were living with each other in the apartment.
The woman was brought to Rhode Island Hospital and she is currently listed in stable condition.
Police say they also investigated three stabbings in the city overnight. No one was fatally injured.
These incidents come one day after a 19-year-old was gunned down in Providence on Harvard Avenue. Demit Todd was found lying on the street by a Toyota Camry which had crashed into a pole. He was rushed to Rhode Island hospital with multiple gun shot wounds, where he later died.
One month ago Todd's cousin, 20-year-old Wesley Smith, was murdered on Dudley Street.
Police say it's too early to say if Todd and Smith's murders are connected.
