Man shot in Providence ID'd as record producer "AraabMuzik"

A man who was shot early Thursday morning and dropped off at the Rhode Island Hospital Emergency Room as been identified as record producer "AraabMuzik."

Friends of Abraham Orellana, AKA AraabMuzik on twitter are saying that the producer was shot in an attempted robbery in his hometown, Providence R.I. He is currently recovering in the hospital.

Police say he said he was shot in the area of Cranston Street and Dexter Street in Providence when attempting to purchase marijuana.

According to information provided by police "Araab Muzik" was shot when an individual approached his vehicle waving a handgun inside, he attempted to grab the handgun and was shot.

In a statement to VIBE magazine AraabMuzik's people said, "Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well. He was out in his neighborhood last night with friends and unfortunately the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is recovering now and police are investigating the crime. We appreciate all the concern and fan support and Araab is looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to the stage as soon as he can."

AraabMuzik has worked on production for Cam'ron, 50 Cent, Jim Jones, and Lloyd Banks.
