A two and half story home in Providence caught fire early Monday morning causing one occupant to evacuate the building.

The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. on the top floor of the building on Elma Street.

It spread to the buildings attic where it was knocked down by fire fighters.

The fire chief said the building sustained heavy damage and that part of the roof collapsed during the incident.

No one was injured.
