WARWICK, R.I. - Police say their investigation into the suspicious death of Warwick resident John Fay has not yet yielded any arrests, although detectives are pursuing several leads.

Police say the 66 year-old man's body was found in a trash barrel at Warwick City Park on Saturday, May 18. Police ruled the death a homicide a day later.

Warwick Police have increased patrols in City Park in order to ensure residents' continued safety.

Several residents told ABC6 News that the discovery of a body in one of the park's waste bins had made them feel uneasy and nervous for the children who play there.

On May 18-19, investigators and police dogs combed the area for clues that might explain why the body of an adult male turned up in the area. Police say the incident is not a suicide, but they believe the man was murdered.

On Monday, the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy which confirmed that the man did not die of natural causes.

Police are asking anyone with information on this incident call the Warwick Police Department at 401-468-4200.
