WARWICK, R.I. - A man with a lengthy history of traffic offenses and DUI charges was arrested Friday night by State Police after failing to stop at a Red Light on Cowesett Road and New London Turnpike.
Police say shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Friday, they took Paul Rocha, 49, of West Warwick into custody for allegedly driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and driving on a suspended license. When police initiated a traffic stop, they found Rocha to be slurring his word and unable to stand on his own.
State Police say Rocha has been arrested for DUI before, and has been arrested for driving while driving on a suspended license 22 times since 1991. Rocha has served jail time for 14 of those offenses.
Rocha is currently being held at the ACI. His passenger, Timothy Henry, 46, of West Warwick was also arrested on a warrant out of Coventry. Henry is also being held at the ACI.
